Busy, busy, BUSY!

Long time no see!

With spring break finished and fourth quarter starting up, here are some updates on our busy springtime!

Spring show rehearsals are underway, with three weeks until Enchanted April performs and four weeks until Ajax performs. All actors, techies, and costumes are hard at work! Speaking of costuming! If you still want to be involved in the show, costumes are still wanted! Stop by after school if you want to lend assistance.

Next drama club meeting will be full of exec speeches! If you want to be on drama club exec next year, start thinking about what you wanna say. Speeches are usually around one minute, so keep it short and sweet. It will be the last Thursday of April (4/26). We will all vote for exec on our drama awards ballots in May.

Broadway junior producer interviews and choreographer auditions are coming soon, so put on your thinking caps are starting to begin that dance you’ve always wanted to see on stage. Interviews with juniors producers will happen soon, four producers will be chosen. So prepare for that, juniors! And auditions for choreographies will be around the end of April. Around 10 dances are chosen.

Quickly after Ajax closes, general Broadway Extravaganza dance auditions will follow! Start inviting friends, and talk to your classes about auditioning! Auditions are usually after school and last about two hours, and that night calls will be made out to tell who was cast in what! It is a fun way to end the year so you don’t wanna miss it! And mark those calendars! Performances are May 31st and June 1st!

Along with dance auditions will be singing auditions. Students can audition with a solo, duet, or small group. It must be performance ready, so start working! Like dances, around 10 acts are chosen. If you have no performance experience in singing but still wanna try, do it! Many different kinds of students can perform a song, and it’s a fun way to spread your wings!

Finally, drama awards will be May 14th where we award best actor/actress in a lead, supporting and minor roles; award best trajectories show; hand out numerals and letters; award those in ITS; and, the most anticipated of them all, announcing next years fall musical! It is a fun formal event with a red carpet to strut down with your friends. Don’t forget to invite your parents to take your pictures!

We are busy!
