Now that winter shows have closed, it’s time for the Spring Play and the Spring Showcase!
Spring Play (directed by Christopher Kent): Almost, Maine by John Cariani
SYNOPSIS (taken from Concord Theatricals): Welcome to Almost, Maine, a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.
CAST SIZE: 10-19 people, half men, half women
Spring Showcase (directed by Laurie Nebeker): These Shining Lives by Melanie March
SYNOPSIS (taken from Concord Theatricals): THESE SHINING LIVES chronicles the strength and determination of women considered expendable in their day, exploring their true story and its continued resonance. Catherine and her friends are dying, it’s true; but theirs is a story of survival in its most transcendent sense, as they refuse to allow the company that stole their health to kill their spirits—or endanger the lives of those who come after them.
CAST SIZE: 4-5 women, 2-3 men
