Freshman Drama/Tech Boot Camp Summer 2019:

These camps are exclusively for incoming freshmen. We want to welcome you into the drama department and help you get your skills ready for EPHS.

DRAMA BOOT CAMP is scheduled for July 22-25, from 8 am to 3 pm each day in the EPHS Auditorium. The cost for camp is $160.

Drama Boot Camp will be led by drama teacher Laurie Nebeker along with student counselors from the high school Drama Club.  We will work on characterization, basic movement, and audition techniques. Camp will help you know your way around the high school theatre facilities, and you’ll learn about the opportunities available in all aspects of our drama program.

TECH BOOT CAMP is scheduled for July 22-26, from 3pm to 5pm M-Th and 9-2pm on Fridayin the EPHS Auditorium. The cost for camp is $100.

Hey Techies, With so many experienced sound, light, build, and shift tech graduating, we are going to need some new technicians to fill those spots next year. With that in mind I am planning a tech camp in conjunction with freshman boot camp. The hope is that we will be better prepared to hit the ground running for the fall musical.

Experienced technicians and new technicians are welcome. Topics will include audio and lighting basics, proper rigging and shift operation, build basics, and terms to cover all these topics. It is from this pool of people that we will likely be hiring new technicians to work rentals in the next few years.

Trajectories XXXV (Summer 2019):

  • Auditions: August 12th, 9 am – 12 pm
  • Rehearsals: August 13th – 29th, Monday – Thursday, 8 am – 1 pm
  • Dress Rehearsals: September 3rd and 4th, 3 – 9 pm (MANDATORY)
  • Performances: September 5th & 7th

For auditions, students will cycle through 10 stations.  No preparation is necessary; just wear clothing for movement and closed toe shoes. In the interest of safety, no bare feet and no flip flops or sandals during auditions or rehearsals.

Trajectories is the drama department’s first show of the year. This is a no-cut show, so everyone who auditions is guaranteed a spot! There are skits written and directed by fellow students, as well as dances choreographed by students. Rehearsals are split into one-hour slots for each skit or dance, so your time commitment can vary based on what you’re a part of. We also have an all-girls dance which meets at 8 am every rehearsal day. Trajectories is a great way to get to know a lot of upperclassmen so starting high school won’t be as scary, and is a great way to start the year!

The rest of the year, we have the fall musical, winter shows (winter play and one act), spring shows (spring showcase and spring play), and finally Broadway Extravaganza (another final no cut show at the end of the year!). There are ample opportunities to get involved, both on stage and backstage!
